Frequently Asked Questions:
What are you doing right now?
Until we go, we are doing necessary paperwork, medical appointments, and building a team of individuals and churches to support us financially and prayerfully.
Will you be safe where you will be living?
“Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”2 Timothy 3:12
We are moving to a location that is currently considered safe. There is occasional political unrest, but there is an entire safety team in place to keep a pulse on anything concerning. Our desire is not to be unwise or to intentionally put ourselves or our children in danger, but we do realize that safety is never guaranteed and recognize that there are risks and hardships to following Christ.
When will you move?
Our goal is to move to Colombia this Fall, 2024 after our baby is born and we have his paspport and required medical vaccinations. We also need to be at a minimum of 75% of the recommended monthly support.
What is your current monthly support level at?
We are at 64%, which means we still need 36% more to be fully supported or at least 11% more before our organization will give us the green light to buy departing tickets.
Ethnos360 requires us to be at a 75% monthly support at a minimum.
Who determines your monthly support amount?
To know more, visit Ethnos360 page here.
How do you receive your funding?
As members of Ethnos360, our support goes through their office (for tax purposes), but the funding comes from both churches and individuals.
Where does my money go when I send it to you?
We receive 100% of the funds that are sent to us through the organization. Our support needs to go through them for tax purposes. However, 100% of what is given to the organization for us will be given directly to us.
What is the best way to send our financial support?
Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT)
An electronic funds transfer is the easiest, most efficient, and cost-effective way for you to partner financially with us, especially for recurring gifts. As well as being sent in the mail, the EFT can be filled out online at: https://ethnos360.org/give/eft
Credit or Debit Card
Make a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift with your credit or debit card. You may contribute online at: https://ethnos360.org/missionaries/ronnie-and-lexie-porrello OR by phone at 866-547-2460. Note that by giving with credit or debit card charges a 2.1% fee.
Check or Money Order
To give by check or money order, please make it payable to Ethnos360 and on the memo line indicate whom you are designating it for – Ronnie & Lexie Porrello. Please mail checks, money orders, and EFTs to: Ethnos360, 312 W. First St., Sanford, FL 32771
A Note on Giving: As we trust the Lord for finances, we must also make wise decisions as to how we can make the best use of it. It can be helpful for our budgeting purposes to know if a gift is one time, or if you intend to give regularly. If it would be possible or convenient, please let us know.
One-Time Gifts:
If you are at all considering giving toward our ministry, we are so grateful! If you would like to do a one-time gift or give toward something very specific, contact us and we will let you know what needs we have at that time!
Will you be working with a team?
Yes! The organization as a whole has a high value of teamwork, so we anticipate working on teams in various capacities! Ideally, everything we do will be done in diverse teams with many people bringing their gifts and talents together for the sake of church planting efforts.
How often will you come back to the US?
The “formula” we work off of is 4 years on the field, and 1 year off. However, this can be flexible depending on our family’s needs. We will be trusting the Lord and relying on His leading when we are on the field and how things are moving for us. At least for now this will also heavily depend on citizenship paperwork.
What will you be teaching?
Ronnie will be begin by joining the teachers in the Biblical part of the training teaching on books of the Bible and Christian life. Lexie needs to reach a proficient level of language before she can begin teaching.
